You Can Find Me

Here

For 2+ months now, I have been wanting to do an update post on my goals for this year to see my progress.

Clearly, I have not done it.

So how am I doing?

1) Learning Photoshop = Big Fat Fail. Must make more progress.

2) Learning My Camera = Rockin' It! This is one area I have made a lot of progress.

3) Run RNR Savannah = I'm Registered!

4) Completed 500 in 2011 = Working on it. Right now, I am pretty behind but there is still time.

5) Get my Red Kitchenaid Mixer = Done. What a wonderful surprise that was!

6) Not be Pregnant or Have Another Child = Still Rockin' It! Thank goodness :)

7) Decorate the Walls in Mi Casa = Improving. We have made progress.

8) Start Reading Again = Another Fail.

So, all in all I'm doing fantastic. This year has actually been very pleasant. Here's to hoping that trend continues...

Window of Opportunity

In the past, I have commented on how I feel that some positive has come out of the loss of Megan Grace. This is almost always in reference to the scholarship.

Sometimes, it is in reference to being able to help others as they face the same reality we did 2 short years ago.

Sadly, this has been the case for a few people in our life since we lost Megan Grace. Each day it happens to many others whom we do not know.

Last week, we were given the chance to help them as well.

The hospital where both of our girls were born contacted me, to see if we would be interested in helping them put together a training program for hospital staff dealing with bereaved families.

I almost literally jumped at the opportunity as did my husband.

Actually, this was a bit of a surprise for us considering we feel they are the most amazing hospital to ever exist due to the top notch care they provide but we agreed to help out anyway.

They are attempting to educate the hospital staff that each one of them can leave a negative memory with a bereaved family through their interaction with the family during such a difficult time.

Fortunately, this did not really happen with either of our children especially with Megan Grace. The care we received during 3 different overnight hospital stays was AMAZING! I have thought back on that time so many times in awe of the respect with which we were treated.

That does not mean that others leave the hospital with the experience. We are absolutely thrilled to help implement such a wonderful training program on a vital topic surrounding patient care.

Leaving the hospital with only memories of your child is devastating so one can only imagine how much worse it would be if you were also left with negative memories of your care.

So, if you are reading my blog by chance and have something to say regarding this topic please leave a comment. I'll read each of them in preparation for our meeting with the hospital staff next week.

Thanks in advance!

9 Months!

Happy Girl!

We had her 9 month appointment yesterday. She is a tiny peanut weighing in at 15 lbs 2 oz. It appears she is going to be a petite little monster.

She loves to dance! This is very interesting because well her parents.....can't. Enough said. The good news is her auntie is a dance teacher so we are all set.

She is also quite the talker. Dada is the only recognizable thing we have heard so far although it doesn't appear she is associated dadadadada with Dada yet. I'm sure that is right around the corner.

We just moved her to her crib. It was a piece of cake for her however I still wish she was in her bed in our room. She literally never even noticed. Baby girl is growing up so fast!

Her crawl is definitely still more army style than baby style. There are no problems getting from point A to point B so I guess she does not feel the need to actually crawl.

We have also started pulling up! No cruising yet but pulling up most definitely. I've seen her pull up on the wall, dishwasher, refrigerator, and even my leg. So not prepared for this level of mobility!

All in all, we are loving this age. Lauren really rocks at being an awesome kid! We can't wait to see what she has in store.

Happy 4th of July!

Love,

Lauren

P.S. I got stung by a bee for the very first time in trying to get a picture of her in this dress. It hurt!

Roly Poly

We have officially entered the kiddie birthday party circuit. So far it has been a smashing success! L attended the 2nd party of her 9 month social career this weekend.

The party was at a real gym where gymasts train for competition. It totally rocked!

She climbed all the way to the top of this wedge before rolling back down. It did not even phase her!

Got it Coach! So the big kids are flying into the foam pit and running down the tumble track so I'll just hold down this wedge ok?

Focused!

Daddy/Daughter Coaching Session. So sweet!
