As the perfect follow up to buying my camera in December I signed up for this workshop. The announcement email really could not have arrived at a better time or from a more amazing photographer.
I've admired Abigail Seymour's work from afar for well over a year. She is (in my opinion) simply phenomenal.
Her workshop did not disappoint. It was basic yet informative. For someone like me who is trying to learn their DSLR camera it was exactly what was needed.
We did some classroom time learning the basics of our cameras before heading outside to beautiful weather and a couple of child models. She also had a few sweet lenses on hand for us to borrow. Awesome.
So without further adieu below I've included just a few of my favorite from the day. I've got to hand it to this little child model. Without about 30 cameras in her face (literally) she really hammed it up.

Resurfacing
It has been a couple of weeks since my last post. Numerous times I've thought about posting but as they say life just got in the way.
First, it was what I can only assume was an allergic reaction to something causing me to breakout in a full body rash.
Now I'm battling a bad cold.
Plus, I just think the weather has been too cold for my brain to operate. I've enjoyed the snow tremendously however the biting cold not so much.
But I'm back and I can't wait to share with you about my photography workshop today with Abigail Seymour. It rocked!

A Big Little Life
This is the title of a book I recently picked up at the local library. It is written by Dean Koontz. It is a story about his beloved Golden Retriever named Trixie and the impact she had on his life.
So much of what he says in the books outlines how we feel about our Tonka. Never in a million years could we have imagined how much better our lives would be after we brought this little guy home almost two years ago.
He is just such a delight to have around. If you are a dog lover this is a great book. Enjoy!

Going Green
The other day I had posted that I was looking for a laptop case for my new computer. This week a friend of mine sent me a link to this blog.
It was cool because 1) My new computer is a Sony VAIO 2) I still needed a laptop case.
Bonus: Both Sony and GreenSmart are trying to sustain our environment through their Green efforts.
If you are stuck in this house during this nasty weather like I am then relieve some of your boredom by visiting both of their sites. They both contain some pretty interesting information.
For instance, I was unaware that Sony even offered this program. Now maybe that will help me figure out what to do with the box of Sony stereo equipment in my garage.
Enjoy!

Snow Covered
Prior to the snow arriving our nephew arrived for a visit as well. It has been great a great time!
Tonka loves to play with him and will probably sleep for several days once he returns home.
