Guest Blogging

I'm off to bed now but keep an eye out for me over here. The blog belongs to my wedding planner so I thought I would join in the fun.

Enjoy!

Stitches

Just to show you what a good Uncle my husband is the picture below illustrates what happens when you let him supervise your kid while riding bikes. STITCHES. 4 of them to be exact.

These were the result of our nephew plowing into a mailbox while looking behind him to make sure Steve was still following him on the bike. He was. He was watching him so well he that he saw him get stopped in midair by the mailbox as the bike continued. Afterwards he promptly scooped him and brought him back to the house so that we could say ummm that is gonna need stitches not a bandaid darling. Let's just say Steve doesn't have a career in medicine in his future.

E was a champ though. Tough kid!

He even came back from the hospital and put his helmet back on so that he could go back out and ride his bike. Of course all of this was AFTER he located his reward :)

Steve snuggling with D after his nap. Such a great Unkie Steve!

D and I playing hide and go seek after he first woke up too. Such a happy kid when he wakes up. It's wonderful :)

Tonka Time

Lately things have just been in a whirlwind in our house. During that time we have both dogsat (is that a word) for family and been to visit family. This was all great news for Tonka of course because he has had playmates galore. Here are a few pictures from our time over the last couple of weeks.
This is Tonka's cousin Cooper doing well what Cooper does best.......Sleeping. He is about seven years old and is the closest thing to a living rug I've ever seen. Tonka does not get much playtime out of him but he tries. Poor Cooper gets so annoyed by Tonka who still has quite a bit of puppy left in him.

Tonka has learned so new tricks too! He loves bottles and obviously isn't letting anything stand in his way :)

This is his other cousin Bella. She stayed with us for a week and this is how she felt about it.

After all this excitement Tonka was awfully tired.

However, he still made time to give Bella a kiss before she left. A good time was had by all!

Lost and Found

A few weeks ago I found a blog and read it from start to finish. Now, I can't find it. Soooo, I'm asking for your help.

This is what I know:

  • The blogger paints children's things such as wall letters etc.
  • Her name was Kim (maybe?)
  • I'm thinking she lived in the south (maybe TN)

This is really bothering me. Can you help direct me to her blog again because I loved it!

Also, two more lost and found items I think I can clear up with this post.

  • Melissa (Vance's mom) if you are still reading your blog won't let me comment and I do not have your email addy but I'd love to chat with you.
  • To the person who asked me where that lake was it was a small, local lake. You can probably search the state website in order to find a lake close to you. Enjoy!

Stepping Out

Not stepping out as in out of the blogosphere but stepping out of my comfort zone. The "firsts" in our lives are sometimes hard. In my case, the majority of the time my worry over them is almost always worse than the actual task itself once it is done.

LAMG (Life After Megan Grace) has been no different. I've tackled the return to work, JL, ECU football, and basically life in general. It really has not been overly difficult and I'm glad to have just faced everything head on instead of letting it sit there while I worried about it. In the long run, it has just been easier to go ahead and get it over with instead of letting it loom.

Each of these tasks has come with an emotional piece of the puzzle no doubt. Last weekend as I stood among 43k other screaming fans at the football game I'd catch myself crying. Not bawling just teary about the fact that our daughter was not physically there. It was hard. I've made no secret about that to anyone who has asked about our trip to the game (and even a few who didn't ask).

What was harder were the voices in my head who recounted for me the conversations where people doubted my seriousness when I shared that although my due date was August 2nd and the first game was September 5th I fully intended on taking MG to the game. I love football especially ECU football. I'd dreamed of taking MG with us to games no matter how young she was. I wanted to share my love for ECU and football with her. Sadly, I never got that chance once she was born.

Those people who doubted me will always haunt me. Still I attended the game, cheered ECU to a win (barely), and plan to do it again each weekend this year. In the future, I hope to share that with any other children we may have. I'm pretty sure no one will doubt me next time.

Of all of the "firsts" since MG left us here on Earth this one was the hardest to tackle. My love for our daughter along with my passion for football made for an emotional day but I did it and for that I am proud.
