500 In 2011
This seems like a good way for me to kick start myself back into a regular exercise routine after taking basically 2 years off.
Yep. 2 years of not regularly exercising. I feel like a sloth.
So there you have it. It is out there for the world to see. My plan is to update here once a week when I turn in my miles to the blogger in charge of the group to keep myself accountable.
Last year at least one of my friends did it. Congrats Susan on racking up over 800 miles at this point (and completing 5 half marathons plus the Susan G Komen 3 day walk). You are amazing!

Typically I am not one to get all wrapped up in celebrity. They are, after all, human.
Last year when we found out our daughter was not going to survive I picked up the book Resilience by Elizabeth Edwards.
Today I can't really tell you why I picked it up instead of the myriad of other books discussing the loss of a child. Maybe because it was written by a bereaved mother instead of a doctor, psychologist, etc?
It may have been because at the time her name was in the headlines after suffering yet another tragic blow in her life as it was rumored (and later confirmed) that her marriage was coming to an end due to infidelity while she also battled cancer.
Either way it was one of the top 5 best books I have ever read.
Her strength in the face of such adversity was amazing. When I heard the news on Monday that she did not have much time left I had hoped she would have one last Christmas with her family.
She didn't. Less than 24 hours after I heard the news she was gone.
My personal hope is that as she near her last moments her on Earth that she looked forward to being reunited with her son and leaving behind the pain, heartache, and tragedy she motored through during her life.
My heart goes out to her remaining children as they face the holidays without their mom.
RIP Elizabeth.
Gloves. Yep. None of those either. Can someone please send me my parent of the year award?
It seems to have gotten lost in the mail.
We did make it outside for the token picture in the snow. Her hoodie is riding up on her and won't stay on her head. One day she is going to see this picture and be like ummm, mom why didn't you just buy me a snowsuit.
I know dear, I know.
Off to buy some winter clothing for my child now. This pretty much seals the deal on it snowing ever again before she turns 10.
Where has time gone? I feel like I should start planning her 1st birthday party already. The last 2 months have been tons of fun.
She is really a laid back baby. She has even been on a few shopping trips including her first Black Friday experience.
Yesterday we took her in to get her first round of shots. Poor baby did not appreciate it at all. Today she seems fine after much cuddling with Mommy to make it all better.
She was 10 lbs 5 oz and 22 inches long. So in 2 months she has gained almost 3 pounds and 2 inches. Way to go baby girl!
She has started smiling and talking. Every morning she just wakes up so happy but she is definitely the grinch in the evenings which ironically is how her parents are as well.
Her first Christmas is upon us. Someone has gotten a little out of control buying her gifts but we won't point any fingers on that one. Suffice it to say that I wrapped 5 gifts for her today and I *think* there are still 4 on the way.
We can't wait to see how she continues to grow and change each day.
