Happy Valentines Day!

From my very unromantic husband :) He brought these home for me on Friday as a surprise. We normally don't give each other gifts (yes, we are strange) but this one was very welcome.
His parents came into town Friday for dinner and we were hoping to get into Village Tavern but no such luck with no reservations and a wait of 1:45. Had they asked me in advance we would have had reservations :) I called Bonefish from the parking lot to see if we could get in there because I have been dying for Bang Bang Shrimp but the very polite hostess told me the wait was going to be a cool 110 minutes. Sooo, we ended up at Chophouse. It wasn't bad but really doesn't fall into the category of Amber's favorite restaurants. Oh well!
Valentine's Day was fun too! We woke up early and headed to Golden Corral (stop laughing). I haven't been to a buffet type restaurant in years but my Steve has been asking to go to Golden Corral for a long time now so I gave in and off we went. Oddly enough, the last time he asked to go I said no and it burned to the ground that weekend. I had always secretly hoped they wouldn't rebuild it so I wouldn't have to go but it's baaack.
The food wasn't very good which hey I didn't expect it be but there was definitely some good people watching to be done. Let's just say it brings a whole new meaning to "Bigger, better Burlington" when you are in that restaurant :)
We spent the rest of the day delivering my grandmother her flowers from my grandfather for Valentine's day and spent some time with them. We did a little shopping at Friendly and I scored a cute shirt and pair of shoes for $20 total at Belk and DSW. Steve got two new shirts and two pairs of shoes (not nearly as budget friendly).
Finally, we headed home so I could eat and nap while Steve took Tonka to get some exercise before the two of us went out to a MD benefit at Kress.
This was totally the highlight of the whole weekend! I got to introduce Steve to some of my favorite JLG ladies, eat good food, and just relax all for a good cause. My dearest Julie has pictures but I don't have them yet. I'll post as soon as I do.
Today we are just lounging around watching the Daytona 500 (him) and relaxing (me). Actually, as I blog he is out washing and waxing my car while the pot roast we bought this morning cooks.
Overall, it was a great Valentine's Day weekend!!!

15 Weeks!!

How far along? 15 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: No idea.

Maternity clothes? I'm about to have to give up my regular clothes. Twice this week I was really uncomfortable at work while wearing them so I guess maternity clothes are in my near future.

Stretch marks? No, although I'm certain this isn't always going to be the case.

Sleep: Getting better!! Last night I actually went to bed at like 9 and I don't remember getting up to pee until like 3. If I got up before that I don't remember which is fine by me. The breathing situation is getting better as well.

Best moment this week: Being 15 weeks and sleeping a little bit better :)

Movement: Last week I said I had felt "something" but wasn't sure that it was Baby Lavinder. This week I'm pretty sure that I am feeling Baby Lavinder which is really exciting. It happened at a few different times and in different places so hopefully it will get more consistent soon.

Food cravings: These change still change daily. The hunger has slowed down a bit too which is good since some days it was tough to keep up. I'm back to craving my original pre-pg cravings I think such as chocolate, brownies, cookies, and all those healthy items.

Gender: Surprise :)

Labor Signs: No, thank God.

Belly Button in or out? Still in

What I miss: This is so bad but I really having really been craving a martini for a few days now. We are planning on going to Bonefish for our anniversary next month and I won't be having one but I may drool over the martini menu for a few minutes.

What I am looking forward to: Getting my maternity photos done in May and wearing summer maternity clothes.

Weekly Wisdom: Ignore people with their know it all comments. It's frustrating but do your best to ignore them.

Milestones: Hitting 15 weeks and feeling Baby Lavinder moving around in there!!

Two very productive weekends in a row!

It's Winter time and if you know me you know that it is not my favorite time of year in fact once New Year's passes us by it is my least favorite time of the year. The last couple of weekends I've been using it much to my advantage.

Last weekend I organized the whole house while my Steve cleaned the whole house. I literally went through ever closet, cabinet, drawer, etc. and organized things while also getting my Bargain Box pile ready to donate in April.

I've included some pictures below of the inside of one closet that is still cluttered but this is all waiting to leave here. I'm so glad we have to do this twice a year in support of the league because it encourages me to clean everything out and get rid of things we don't need. It is amazing how much "stuff" we have that we don't need or use anymore it makes me feel just a little wasteful but at least I'm handing it over for a good cause.

This weekend I was able to sit down and work on completing some stuff for The Designer Showhouse including designing a Facebook page for the group so we can get the word out. If yo want to join just find 2009 Junior League of Greensboro Designer Showhouse on Facebook.
Who knows what next weekend holds but I feel so on top of things and it's great!!

The 9:30 am Heart Attack on a plate

This was my second "breakfast" today and it just so happened to be 9:30 in the morning no less. Steve and I get up really early even when we don't have to (think 6 am) so 9:30 feels like lunch to me most days and this morning was no different.

Just in case you would like to make this fabulous "meal" it consists of simply baked potatoes, butter, and cheese. That is all.

14 Weeks!!

How far along? 14 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: No idea.

Maternity clothes? Not yet! I have worn a couple of the pair of pants I borrowed but I still wear my regular clothes on a daily basis.

Stretch marks? No, although I'm certain this isn't always going to be the case.

Sleep: Still not going so well although last night was better than the night before when I was up from 2am-4am

Best moment this week: Being 14 weeks. This whole pregnancy thing is really flying by :)

Movement: Not yet I don't think. A couple of nights ago when I was up for a couple of hours in the middle of the night I felt something that felt like one piece of popcorn popping on my left side. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Baby Lavinder but I guess it's possible.

Food cravings: These change daily but I seem to be on fruit snacks and applesauce now. Granola bars and yogurt are on the way out with the other things I no longer like.

Gender: Surprise :)

Labor Signs: No, thank God.

Belly Button in or out? Still in

What I miss: Not having quite so many odd aches and pains and not being quite so crazy. This morning my lower back is killing me and my hips feel like they are going in two different directions :( Great now my butt will be wider as if I needed that!

I've also noticed I get emotional a lot easier like yesterday I was watching the video with the elephant and the dog and was pretty sure I was going to cry.

Another thing that makes me feel crazier than ever my new found ability to get REALLY mad at things. This week there was an episode that just set me off and it's a good thing I didn't get to talk to the person who was the object of my anger because I was not happy and I'm certain I would have said mean things that I probably didn't mean.

Oh well hopefully I will return to normal once this kid arrives in August!

What I am looking forward to: Getting my maternity photos done in May.

Weekly Wisdom: Don't wish this time away because it will be over before you know it

Milestones: Hitting 14 weeks!!
